What we do

Every event is different. The energy isn't.

Live fundraising auctions and virtual & hybrid events. Wherever there's a paddle and a cause, we're in.

Our Work

Live Fundraising Auctions

This is the core of what we do. We run live, in-person auctions for nonprofits — galas, dinners, fund-a-needs | paddle raises, school auctions, and golf outings. From small auction affairs to million-dollar productions, our team delivers stellar service. Whether you're looking to raise $50,000, $1 million or more, we can get you there.

public schools, private schools, startup charities, corporate foundations, health-focused charities, animal rescue groups, religious institutions, museums, fraternities and sororities, theaters.

  • Item curation guidance along with other money generators
  • On-site team — lead auctioneer, professional bid spotters, clerks
  • Full event-night execution on the floor
Available when the format makes sense.

Virtual & Hybrid Auctions

We built this practice during COVID and kept it. Most clients run in-person now — but when virtual or hybrid is the right call for your event, we have ten years of doing it well.

  • Format call — fully virtual or hybrid
  • Platform selection and implementation
  • Production coordination
  • Pre-taped vs. live segment planning
  • Script and run-of-show
  • Fund-a-need / paddle-raise executed virtually
Our Process

How we work, start to finish.

Auctioneers have a reputation for talking fast. We listen first. Months before your event, we're already shaping it — with you, not at you.

Consulting

A focused one-on-one. We learn your organization, your audience, your number, and the constraints around it.

Kick-Off Meeting

We nail down event format, run-of-show, and the finer points that move the dollar number. This is where the program takes shape.

Event Planning

The months between kick-off and event night. Item solicitation, timeline, donor segmentation, ask strategy. We stay close — not buried in your inbox, but on call when you need us.

On-Site Services

Event day, the full team shows up — lead auctioneer, professional bid spotters, clerks. We work the floor, read the room, and adjust in real time. Depending on your wants, needs and goals, we assemble the perfect team for your event.

Our People

A successful auction isn't a solo act.

An experienced auctioneer behind the mic is the start, not the whole story. We staff every event with a full team — each role built to keep the room engaged, the bids accurate, and the energy high.

Auctioneers

Lead the night. Build rapport with the room, read the crowd, drive bids higher with proper chant technique. Several of ours are state champions or Hall-of-Fame inductees.

Professional Spotters

Work with the auctioneer to help maintain the energy, encourage competitive bidding, and help with questions.

Bid Spotters

Work the floor at larger events so no bid gets missed and energy stays high. Trained to engage individual bidders, create friendly competition, and surface activity the auctioneer can't see from stage.

Clerks

Document every bid — winning bidder, item, amount — and reconcile in real time. Trained on event-night technology and process so there are no surprises at settlement.

FAQ’s

Common questions, straight answers.

Five things prospects ask before booking us.

01

Why hire a professional auctioneer?

Results. A licensed fundraising auctioneer can boost your bottom line by 300% or more. It's not an event expense — it's a multiplier on the money you're already spending to put guests in the room.

02

Why does auctioneer pricing vary so much?

You get what you pay for. Every Sayre & Jones auctioneer holds a valid license and works full-time in the industry. Not every auctioneer can say that. Cheaper often means part-time, untrained on fund-a-need technique, or unfamiliar with nonprofit audiences.

03

What does a fundraising auction company actually do?

More than the night-of. We help plan, set timeline, source the right items, structure live and silent auctions, design the fund-a-need, Help with other money generating ideas.  and execute on event night with a full team — auctioneer, bid spotters, clerks.

04

How far in advance should we book?

Six months to a year is ideal. We can support tight-turnaround events too — we just lock in the essentials early so last-minute changes don't blow up the night. Contact us and we will be truthful on whether there is enough time

05

Is consignment a good idea for our auction?

Sometimes. We have consignment partners and can advise on whether it fits your event. It doesn't work for everyone — we'll tell you straight if it's wrong for yours.
